Description
Postcard from 1st Lieutenant Carl Cope Morgan, 1918.
Well known resident and civic leader of Uniontown Alabama,
and father of Carl Morgan Jr, former Mayor of Selma.
Morgan is writing home to his parents during his duty in Paris.
The postcard is in EX condition,
and has signed "Carl" and "1st Lt C.C. Morgan."
He has mentioned that President Wilson will be in Paris.
"Nothing new today. Wilson will be in Paris today + every French man that ?? has gone there."
He has also penned a note on the front where he lives.
"This is the street I live on, but this picture does not show my place of abode - I live this way"
(toward arrow).
While researching, I came across his grave site and obit (1975)
as well as a WWI document listing him on his return home to the US in 1919.
This clearly lists his rank, hometown, and the name of his father Lewis.
