    Description

    CETMA 7-rail fence Front Rack
    Bikepacking Porteur Cargo
The regular version of this rack is 5-rails, and the support legs and hardware have evolved since I bought this in Philadelphia maybe like 2009 I think. This version is 7 rails wide, and the fence is demountable/removable using (6) metric hex head screws from underneath the platform. The weld quality is typical CETMA grade, which is to say very strong and thorough, but not all flat ground and polished.
These were all made one by one in small batches by one man shop. I actually had no problems loading this rack up, and the upper limit on weight is probably more a function of your bike's handling and your own comfort level... I never had a reason to tote a keg, but this rack likely would not flinch if you did. This is a mix of rectangular barstock and round tubing so the weight is 4.4 lbs. But as I mentioned above, you might actually get 44lbs or more on this.
Rack and fence are black powdercoat, which has some scuffs and marks from wear over the years.
The support legs and handlebar clamps are Wald heavy duty basket hardware which was typical for CETMA at the time. The lower set of holes on the legs can be used to mount though axles or quick release. I usually set it to mount to fork eyelets with a chainring bolt as a spacer.
Honestly, I do not know how to price this. As far as I know, this rack might have been like the only prototype of this rack with fence that CETMA Cargo ever made. So I am just listing it and looking for offers. I am not desperate to get rid of it, but I am not really using it to its full potential at the moment. If you have an interesting offer or potentially want to trade a 1986 Miyata 912 or 1000 frame in 54 or 56, we can definitely talk about something.
Please feel free to message with questions. I will try to swap in some pics from the last time I mounted it to my bike, so that you can see typical setup.
