Nancy Wiley Alice in Wonderland Handpainted Cast Resin Artist Doll LE 200
Doll Artist Nancy Wiley created this beautiful Alice in Wonderland doll in 2009. This Alice is cast in resin, and handpainted by the artist in a limited edition of 200 dolls. Nancy blurs the line between art and doll; her dolls have the look of oil paintings come to life in three dimensions, and Nancy uses many untraditional materials (like the burlap hair for Alice). The doll stands 10" tall and is in a fixed pose (no jointing) with burlap hair, with the dress being of painted cloth, with fabric touches (the lace collar and a fabric and lace slip; the lace just peeks out at the bottom of the dress). Shoes and stockings are sculpted and painted. Alice was featured in Nancy Wiley's 2009 Alice in Wonderland book. Alice stands 10" tall and  Additional characters made by Nancy Wiley in this series include the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter; I will be offering these dolls as well on eBay. This doll is rare and hard to find.
Nancy Wiley is a nationally recognized doll artist and painter. Wiley's creations include whimsical doll figures made of paper clay or porcelain, figurative sculpture, mixed media pieces and paintings. Her work, inspired by fine art, mythology and fairy tales, is exhibited in museums and galleries and sold to private collectors. Her prolific career spans more than two decades.
Condition
Alice,in Wonderland, a cast resin, hand painted doll by Nancy Wiley, comes to you brand new and mint and from old store stock. All images are of the exact doll you will receive. Doll was not produced with a box; she will be sent to you as she was wrapped (last image) in bubble paper with a plastic bag. She comes with her COA (certificate of authenticity) which shows she was #72 of 200.
